Don Hutchins played for Bradford City 1974-1981 with 286 appearances in total.

Even though Don was born in Middlesborough and also played for Leicester City, Plymouth Argyle and Blackburn Rovers, he really feels that Bradford City is his home and 'a major part of my heart' as he has been here now for twenty/thirty years.

He says there is a misconception that footballers are paid 'mega money' whereas in fact he was getting paid around £30 or £40 a week with £5 appearance money. Don thinks that the fact so many ex-players come back to Bradford City (he sees and speaks to Ian Cooper and Terry Dolan regularly) just shows 'how much thought of Bradford City is'. Don was a favourite player with fans due to his quick and skilful play and his ability to rack up the goals - over his fifteen-year career, he scored 73 goals.
