On the 11th May, 1968 the Gwalia Male Choir from London gave a concert in St. George's Hall, Bradford. There is a long tradition of male voice choir singing connected with Wales, and this event was a great success. The organiser of this event was Dr. Owen Davies of Yeadon who was President of the Society from 1964-1966 and Treasurer from 1969-1975. His interest in music is shown by his election as President of the Bradford Festival Choral Society in February 1970. He was ably supported in his choir promotional activities by David Bryan, who in 1970 formed the Aire Valley Singers Choir which he conducted up to the time of his death in November 2003.
